Situated the cool hills of St Andrew, Jamaica, and housed at the Newcastle Hill Station, CMA Newcastle is one of the two campuses that the CIPME currently operates. The campus is the home to the flagship Initial Officer Training Programme as well as a broad suite of Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development and Leadership Training.
The Initial Officer Training Program (IOTP) which provides initial military officer training to Officer Cadets and their equivalents from law enforcement and uniformed services. This programme falls within the tactical level of the Professional Military Education (PME) framework of armed forces. IOTP prepares Officer Cadets to function effectively at a level demanded of a Military Officer on first appointment. The programme focuses on basic military competencies, junior officer qualities, and broader academic development.
CMA Newcastle also houses an NCO Professional Development Department which is focussed on delivering leadership training to the enlisted ranks within the JDF and other militaries throughout the Region.

This mission nests firmly within the overall mission of CIPME, with the CMA Newcastle specifically designed to produce competent junior leaders (both Commissioned and Non-commissioned) that are capable of functioning effectively at the levels demanded to lead their organization with excellence.
