Platoon Sergeants’ Battle Course (PSBC)

Duration: seven (7) weeks

Location: Caribbean Special Tactics Centre

Overview

The Platoon Sergeant Battle Course prepares soldiers to develop the leadership capabilities and knowledge base to advise and support the Commanding Officer in leading the unit in the field. Completion of the course is required for promotion to the level of Sergeant. The course covers the duties of platoon sergeants in defence: including preparation for occupation; implementation of occupation plans; and routine platoon management and communication.

Entry Requirements

Candidates should be a JNCOs who are Infanteer Class Two (2) and have already completed a SNCOs’ Cadre. Nominees of the JDF Regular Force are required to have twelve (12) months uninterrupted BFST currency, whilst a current BFST is required for the Reserve Force. A MST pass is required for both the Regular and Reserve Force. Overseas students are required to meet the relevant fitness standard of their country.
