Support Arms On-the-job Training (OJT)

Duration: eight (8) weeks

Location: JDF Units

Overview

The aim of the Support Arms OJT is to further equip the Pte(NS) with specialized military and life skills to better integrate into the JDF working environment and the workforce as a whole. The intent of the training is to break down the intake into sub-groups and have them posted to various units across the JDF. They will then be tested in the specialized areas after completing prescribed courses. This phase involves contributions of JDF units of the support, engineering, aviation and maritime branches.

Objectives

JNSC recruits will be attached to Units to participate in a 6-week OJT programme as follows:

  • 1 Eng Regt JDF
    • Basic combat engineer course
    • Roles/responsibilities of the unit
    • Unit tour/ familiarization
    • Disaster management
    • Engineer roles in management
    • OJT in unit
  • JDF Coast Guard
    • Basic seaman course
    • Roles/responsibilities of the unit
    • Unit tour/ familiarization
    • Ship husbandry
    • OJT in unit
  • JDF Air Wing
    • Basic air crewman course
    • Roles/responsibilities of the unit
    • Unit tour/ familiarization
    • One-week deployment
    • OJT in unit
    • familiarization flight
  • Support and Service Battalion
    • Basic logistics course
    • Roles/responsibilities of the uunit

Basic Recruit Training and Intermediate Training

Qualification Gained
