International & Mature Students

Immigration Requirements

Everyone travelling to Jamaica must present a valid and approved travel document as evidence of their identity and nationality. The most common and preferred travel document is a passport, but other types of travel documents may also be accepted. International military students must ensure that their passports are certified i.e. Aliens’ exemption from registration whilst attending long military studies and training in Jamaica.

Students are required to arrive with the Joining Instructions and any other supporting documents on arrival in Jamaica.

As a general rule, non-Jamaica students are required to apply for an Extension of Stay provided their course of study will last for more than six months. The Student Affairs Section will assist in this process.
