Delivery of Virtual Cybersecurity Foundation Training at CICSci

By: CMA | March 16, 2022

The pandemic has caused many educational institutions to pivot in how they connect with students and deliver lessons. The Caribbean Institute of Cyber Science (CICSci) is no different in this experience as it traverses its initial development stage. With the support of an external partner, the virtual delivery of several foundation cybersecurity courses began on March 7, 2022 and is scheduled to continue until May. The students are from several key government agencies, including the JDF. This virtual delivery of these foundation courses is the first phase of a series of complementing activities adopted in building cybersecurity capacity across government agencies. The experience is being keenly observed to help in determining the feasibility of the current mode of delivery for other more advanced courses falling under the arrangement with the external partner.

CICSci is excited to continue its operations as it manifests its strategic thrust through the design of targeted curricula to meet workforce demands, the development and recruitment of instructors to be able to train the local and regional workforce, and the fostering of partnerships.
